RIPTA Asks Passengers in RIde program to call for their trips today, March 20, 2015

March 20, 2015

Due to computer problems, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) cannot access  RIde trips scheduled for today (March 20, 2015) for passengers with disabilities.

RIde passengers are asked to please call 401-461-9760 to confirm their trips. Passengers whose trips are the same as yesterday (Thursday, March 19,2015) do not need to call.

Also RIPTA is asking RIde passengers who are trying to schedule a trip for next week to please wait until tomorrow or Monday to call to help free up phone lines for people traveling today.

RIPTA  is using all available staff to help answer the RIde phone line and apologizes for extended wait times.

RIPTA continues to work with its vendors on the computer issue and will notify the public when the problem is resolved.  The authority apologizes for any inconvenience to RIde passengers.

RIde passengers who schedule their trips through LogistiCare, do not need to call since their information is not affected by this computer problem.

The RIde program is RIPTA’s paratransit service for people with disabilities and is provided in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
