RIPTA offers SPECIAL shuttle service to 35th Annual Great Chowder Cook-Off on saturday, june 18, 2016

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is pleased to announce it will offer special shuttle service to the 35TH Annual Great Chowder Cook-Off taking place at Fort Adams State Park on Saturday, June 18, 2016.  Passengers may board the “Special” RIPTA bus at the Newport Gateway Center to go to the Chowder-Cook-Off and then make their return trip at any of the scheduled times.  Passengers will be dropped off and picked up at clearly marked Great Chowder Cook-Off bus stops, located at the Newport Gateway Center and Fort Adams State Park. Service is available on a first come, first served basis. Newport Waterfront Events is working closely with RIPTA to encourage event attendees to use public transpiration to this highly-attended event, as parking is limited.

Regular one way fare is $2.00; all RIPTA fare products are accepted.  Passengers who spend less than 2 hours at the Cook-Off can purchase a transfer for one dollar for their return trip.  Low income persons with a disability or age 65 and above may ride free of charge with a RIPTA No Fare ID Pass.
