RIPTA TO DETOUR ROUTE 60 TO ACCOMMODATE FUNERAL SERVICES FOR FIRST SGT. P. ANDREW MCKENNA ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 16 AND MONDAY, AUGUST 17, 2015

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 60 (Providence/Newport) to accommodate funeral services for First Sgt. P. Andrew McKenna.  A native of Bristol, McKenna was killed in Afghanistan last week.   The detour will be in effect on Sunday, August 16 from 2pm until 11pm and on Monday, August 17 from 10am until 12pm.  The Franklin Street Park N’ Ride will not be affected on Monday. Routes 60 (Providence/Newport) will detour as follows:Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Hope Street, right onto Tupelo Street, left onto Rte. 136 Metacom Avenue, right onto Market Street, right onto Main Street and then resume regular route. Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Main Street in Warren, left onto Market Street, right onto Rte. 136 Metacom Avenue, right onto Tupelo Street, left onto Hope Street, and then resume regular route.
