UPDATED 1:15 PM – RIPTA TO DETOUR THIRTY-ONE ROUTES DUE TO WINTER STORM SKYLAR ON TUESDAY, MARCH 13, 2018

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) announced that thirty-one routes are on detour today, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 due to winter weather conditions. Routes 13, 18, 21, 29, 30, 32, 49, 50, 51, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 60, 62, 63, 64, 66, 67, 71, 87 and 92 are currently on detour. RIPTA will not serve any Park N’ Rides; service on Routes 8X, 9X, 10X, 12x, 59X, 61X, 65X and 95X has been suspended.  Flex Service has also been suspended.  Riders may expect some delays on all routes due to weather conditions and are advised to use extreme caution at bus stops due to decreased visibility and slippery conditions.

The safety of our employees and passengers is RIPTA’s top priority. RIPTA apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for the public’s understanding as we work hard to maintain service during this storm.

 KENNEDY PLAZA INTERMODAL TRANSPORTATION CENTER

The Kennedy Plaza Ticket Window will close at 12pm today.

The following routes are on detour:

Route 13 (Coventry/Arctic/Warwick Mall):

Service will remain on Main Street; trips will not travel on Legion Way to Arctic.

Route 18 (Union Ave.):

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Cranston Street, continue on Cranston Street, right onto Messer Street to Union Avenue, left onto Webster Avenue, right onto Cranston Street, right onto Puritan Street. Reverse on Inbound.  Trips will not service Chapin Avenue.

Route 21 (Reservoir/Garden City):

Service to CCRI suspended. Service to Rhode Island Mall suspended. Service is terminating at Warwick Mall.

Route 29 (Cowesett/Kent County):

Service to CCRI suspended. Buses are terminating in Arctic.

Route 30 (Arlington/Oaklawn):

Service is terminating at Warwick Mall.

Route 32 (East Providence/Wampanoag):

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Warren Avenue and South Broadway, continue onto Warren Avenue, right onto Pawtucket Avenue and then resume regular route. Reverse on the Inbound.

Route 49 (Camp Street/Miriam Hospital):

Service has been suspended.

Route 50 (Douglas Avenue):

Service is being terminated at Shaw’s plaza. Service to Bryant University suspended.

Route 51 (Charles Street):

Service is terminating at Twin River Casino.

Route 54 (Lincoln/Woonsocket):

Service is terminating at Twin River Casino.

Route 55 (Admiral/Providence College):

Service is terminating at Shaw’s market. Service to Providence College suspended. Trips will travel the regular route to Admrial Street at Huxley Avenue, continue on Admiral Street to Shaw’s Plaza.

Route 56 (Chalkstone Avenue):

Service to the VA Hospital has been suspended. Trips are terminating at Sisson Street.

Service to Stop & Shop suspended.

Route 57 (Smith Street):

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Smith Street and River Avenue, right onto River Avenue, left onto Eaton Street, continue onto Smith Street and then resume regular route. Reverse on Inbound.

Route 58 (Mineral Spring/North Providence):

Service is being terminated at Shaw’s plaza.

Route 60 (Providence/Newport):

Service to Bay View Apartments suspended.

Route 62 (URI/Providence Station):

Service to CCRI suspended.

Route 63 (Broadway/Middletown Shops):

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Hillside Avenue and Beacon Street, right onto Beacon Street, left onto West Main Road, left onto Maple Avenue and then resume regular route. Reverse on the Inbound.

Route 64 ( Newport/URI Kingston):

Service to Bridgetown Road, and Boston Neck Road suspended.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Rte. 138, continue on Rte. 138, turn left onto Rte. 1 South and then resume regular route. Westbound trips on Rte. 138 towards URI will turn left onto Rose Hill Road, right onto Saugatucket Road, left onto Kingston Road, left onto Rte. 138 and then resume regular route. Reverse on the Inbound.

Route 66 (URI/Galilee):

Service to CCRI suspended.

Route 67 (Bellevue/Salve Regina):

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to America’s Cup Avenue at West Marlborough Street, continue onto America’s Cup Avenue, left onto Memorial Blvd., right onto Bellevue Avenue and then resume regular route. Reverse on the Inbound. Service to West Marlborough and Touro Streets suspended.

Route 71 (Broad Street/Pawucket Ave):

Service to Job Lot/Mary Street suspended. Service will terminate at the former Job Lot on Pawtucket Ave.

Route 87 Fairmount/Walnut Hill):

Service has been suspended.

Route 92 (RI College/Federal Hill/West Side):

Service has been suspended.
