A seasonal closing of the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center, located downtown at 175 Main St., will begin on Saturday, Feb. 1 and extend until the end of March, according to Barney Heath, executive director of the Pawtucket Redevelopment Agency.
The closing coincides with a seasonal slow period for tourism traffic to the Visitor Center. The facility is scheduled to reopen to the public on April 1.
The RIPTA bus waiting area on Roosevelt Avenue will operate daytime hours Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., during the February and March period.
The Visitor Center will remain open for special event rentals during this period and is available by contacting the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council at 724-2200.
