The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour twelve bus routes in the Providence area on Saturday, June 20, 2015 in order to accommodate the RI Pride Parade.  Routes 1, 3, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 31, and the R-Line will be detoured from 8:00pm until 10:40pm.  Routes 33, 34 and 60 will be detoured all day and night to accommodate PrideFest Celebrations on South Water Street. 

RIPTA will also have minor detours on Routes 1 and 3 on Thursday, June 18, and Friday, June 19, as Richmond Street in Providence is closed in the evenings for related activities.  Details of all the detours are below:

The following detours will be in effect on Saturday, June 20, 2015:

ROUTE 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit) AND Route 3 (Warwick Avenue)

 THURSDAY, JUNE 18 – 6PM – 2AM; FRIDAY, JUNE 19 – 6PM -2AM, AND SATURDAY, JUNE 20 – 5AM – 8PM AND 10:46PM – END OF DAY:

Trips will continue onto Eddy Street and then turn left onto Dorrance Street into Kennedy Plaza.

ROUTE 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit) – SATURDAY, JUNE 20 – 8:00PM – 10:45PM

NORTH Inbound tripswill travel the regular route to Eddy and Richmond Streets, continue on Eddy Street through to Dorrance Street, and then right onto Washington Street to Bus Stop H.

SOUTH Outbound trips will leave turn right onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street through to Eddy Street, and then resume regular route.

ROUTE 3 (Warwick Avenue):

Inbound tripswill travel the regular route to Eddy and Richmond Streets, continue on Eddy Street through to Dyer Avenue through to Memorial Boulevard, left onto Westminster Street, right onto Exchange Street, left onto Fulton Street to Bus Stop D.

Outbound trips will turn right onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street through to Eddy Street, and then resume regular route.

ROUTE 17 (Dyer/Pocassett):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Westminster Street, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street and then resume regular route. 

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Dorrance Street, turn right onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, left onto East Approach, left onto Exchange Terrace through to Sabin Street to Broadway, left onto John Partington Way, right onto Westminster Street and then resume regular route.

ROUTE 18 (Union Ave.):

ROUTE 19 (Plainfield/Westminster):

ROUTE 20 (Elmwood Ave.):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Broad Street, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard, and then right onto Fulton Street to Bus Stop B.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Dorrance Street, right onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, left onto East Approach, left onto Exchange Terrace through to Sabin Street to Broadway, left onto John Partington Way, right onto Broad Street and then resume regular route.

ROUTE 22 (Pontiac Ave.):

ROUTE 31 (Cranston Street):

Please refer to the Route 17 (Dyer/Pocassett) detour.

ROUTE 33 (Riverside) – On Detour All Day and Night:

Inbound trips will travel the regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Memorial Boulevard, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street, right onto South Water Street and then resume regular route.

ROUTE 34 (East Providence) – On Detour All Day and Night:

ROUTE 60 (Providence/Newport) ) – On Detour All Day and Night:

R-LINE (Broad/North Main):

NORTH Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Broad Street, left onto Dave Gavitt Way, right onto Broadway, left onto Fountain Street, right onto Dorrance Street, left onto Washington Street to Bus Stop F.

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, left onto East Approach, left onto Exchange Terrace through to Sabin Street to Broadway, left onto John Partington Way, right onto Broad Street and then resume regular route.
