The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will no longer detour Route 60 (Providence/Newport) in the downtown Bristol area beginning Friday, September 21, 2012. RIPTA implemented the detour on Monday, April 2, 2012 to accommodate the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) construction in downtown Bristol. With the completion of construction, Route 60 (Providence/Newport) will resume regular service effective immediately.
