Due to construction on Ferry Road in Bristol, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 60 (Providence/Newport) beginning Monday, March 26 for approximately two weeks. Inbound and outbound trips will be detoured from 8am to 4pm during the week ONLY.
Please note that on certain days, Route 60 will go on an extended detour to accommodate construction. Visit https://www.ripta.com/service-alerts and click on Route 60 to see the detour for that day. Extended detour alerts will also be posted on RIPTA’s social media outlets (Facebook @RideRIPTA, Twitter @RIPTA_RI).
The route will detour as follows Monday – Friday from 8AM to 4PM:
Route 60 (Providence/Newport):
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Ferry Street, left onto Metacom Avenue, right onto Griswold Street, continue on Ferry Street, and then resume regular route.
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Hope Street, continue on Ferry Street, left onto Griswold Street, right onto Metacom Avenue through to Ferry Street and then resume regular route.
EXTENDED DETOUR BELOW WILL GO INTO EFFECT AS NEEDED.
Route 60 (Providence/Newport):
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Ferry Road, turn right onto Metacom Avenue, left onto Mt. Hope Avenue through to Church Avenue, right onto Hope Street and then resume regular route.
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Hope Street, turn left onto Church Street through to Mt. Hope Avenue, right onto Metacom Avenue to Ferry Road and then resume regular route.
