Purchasing Fare Products from the Website

Once you complete your purchase on our website, you will receive your fare product in the mail. RIPTA does not currently offer any downloadable fare products from this site. Shipping charges will be applied to all orders.

Products can also be purchased at our transit hub in Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence, at our administration building at 705 Elmwood Avenue, at automated ticket vending machines in Kennedy Plaza and at the Newport Transportation and Visitors Center, and at many major supermarkets. Reduced Fare Bus Pass Program for Low-Income Seniors and People with Disabilities

RIPTA offers a special Reduced Fare Bus Pass Program that allows qualifying low-income seniors (age 65 or over) and low-income persons with disabilities to travel at no cost.

RIPTA also complies with federal transit guidelines and offers half-fare boarding to seniors and persons with disabilities, regardless of income, during OFF PEAK hours.  These passengers pay full fare during RIPTA peak service hours (7am-9 am and 3pm-6pm) on weekdays. They can also use a Medicare Card to board.
