The Chafee Maintenance Facility, located on RIPTA’s Elmwood campus, is responsible for maintaining RIPTA’s fixed-route buses in working order. To keep the facility in a constant state-of-good repair, RIPTA will engage in a multi-year project to:

• Replace all vehicle lifts with new scissor lifts
• Replace the drive-on wash bay lift
• Paint, re-flash, and in certain areas, replace the building’s roof
• Add new make-up air units (MAU’s)
