RIPTA Board Approves Revisions to the Bus Pass Program for Seniors and People with Disabilities Policy

February 3, 2012

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) Board of Directors approved proposed revisions to the Bus Card Program which the Authority provides for individuals with disabilities and seniors.  The proposed revisions were reviewed and approved by the Board at their January 23, 2012 meeting. The new Bus Pass Program policy will take effect on February 1, 2012.

The proposed revisions were presented at a public hearing held on November 29, 2011.  The majority of the public hearing attendees who spoke at the hearing agreed with the policy revisions.  All input from the public was presented, along with the revised policy, to RIPTA’s Board of Directors.
