Representatives of the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will participate in a community meeting organized by the Alliance for a Livable Newport (ALN) on October 15, 2015. The meeting is an opportunity for the public to receive an update on plans to repair exterior damage which the Gateway Center suffered in 2012 due to Superstorm Sandy. The public will also have a chance to view conceptual designs and give feedback on the project, which is expected to be largely funded by federal grant money.
