The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will operate all regular fixed-route buses and trolleys on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday, October 8, 2012 in observance of Columbus Day, an official state holiday.
The statewide RIde Program will operate only ADA trips on Monday, October 8, 2012. The Flex Service reservation line (1-877-906-FLEX) and the RIde reservation line (461-9760) will not be staffed on Monday. RIPTA Flex Services will not be available on October 8th, except for Route 210 (Kingston Flex Service), which will run on the holiday schedule. Regular service for both RIde and Flex will resume on Tuesday, October 9th.
RIPTA offices, including the Photo Identification and Ticket Sales Offices in Kennedy Plaza, will not be staffed on the holiday.
RIPTA, the State’s Mobility Manager, operates over 3,000 daily bus trips on over 50 bus routes throughout the state. Last year, we provided 20 million rides. RIPTA also offers passenger van “Flex” services in areas not served by fixed-route bus service. For more information on holiday schedules or other RIPTA services, please call 781-9400.
