The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour nineteen bus routes in the Providence area on Saturday, June 21, 2014 in order to accommodate the RI Pride Parade.   Routes R-Line (formerly  Routes  11 and 99), 1, 3, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 31, 50, 55, 54, 56, 57, 66, 78, and 92 will be detoured from 7:30pm until 10:00pm.  Routes 33 and 60 will be detoured beginning at 8:00am until 10:00pm to accommodate PrideFest Celebrations on South Water Street.  Bus stops will be temporarily relocated during this time. 

The following detours and relocated bus stops will be in effect on June 21, 2014:  

ROUTE 1 (NOW EXTENDED TO INCLUDE ROUTES 42 AND 77):

Inbound tripswill travel the regular route to Eddy and Richmond Streets, continue on Eddy Street through to Dyer Avenue to Memorial Boulevard, left onto Steeple Street, left onto Exchange Street, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, and then right onto Washington Street to Bus Stop K.

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop H via a right onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street through to Eddy Street, and then resume regular route.

ROUTE 3 (WARWICK AVENUE):

Inbound tripswill travel the regular route to Eddy and Richmond Streets, continue on Eddy Street through to Dyer Avenue through to Memorial Boulevard, left onto Westminster Street, and then right onto Exchange Street to Bus Stop G.

Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop G, take a right onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street through to Eddy Street, and then resume regular route.

R-LINE NORTH (FORMERLY ROUTE 11 BROAD STREET):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broad and Franklin Streets, left onto Dave Gavitt Way through to I-95 North, right onto the Orms Street Exit, left onto Orms Street, right onto Charles Street through to Canal Street, right onto Steeple Street, left onto Memorial Boulevard, and then right onto Fulton Street into Kennedy Plaza.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route.

ROUTE 17 (DYER/POCASSETT):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broad and Franklin Streets, left onto Dave Gavitt Way through to I-95 North, right at the Orms Street Exit, left onto Orms Street, right onto Charles Street through to Canal Street, right onto Steeple Street, left onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, and then travel to Bus Stop O. 

Outbound trips will leave via aright onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, left onto Exchange Street, left onto Exchange Terrace through to Sabin Street through to Broadway, left onto Service Road, right onto Westminster Street, and then resume regular route.

ROUTE 19 (PLAINFIELD/WESTMINSTER):

ROUTE 20 (ELMWOOD AVE.):

Please refer to the Route 11 (Broad Street) detour.

ROUTE 21 (RESERVOIR/GARDEN CITY):

Please refer to the Route 11 (Broad Street) detour.

ROUTE 22 (PONTIAC AVE.):

Please refer to the Route 11 (Broad Street) detour.

ROUTE 27 (BROADWAY/MANTON AVE.)

Inbound trips into downtown Providence will travel the regular route to the intersection of Broadway and Service Road, left onto Service Road to I-95 North, right onto Orms Street, left onto Orms Street, right onto Charles Street through to Canal Street, right onto Steeple Street, left onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, and then travel to the appropriate bus stop.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route.   ROUTE 28 (BROADWAY/HARTORD AVE):

ROUTE 31 (CRANSTON STREET):

Please refer to the Route 17 (Dyer/Pocassett) detour.

ROUTE 33 (RIVERSIDE) – Detour begins at 8AM:

Inbound trips into downtown Providence will travel the regular route to the intersection of Steeple Street and Memorial Boulevard, left onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, and then travel intoKennedy Plaza.

Outbound trips will leave Kennedy Plaza via Washington Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street through to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street, right onto South Water Street and then resume regular route.

ROUTE 50 (DOUGLAS AVENUE) and ROUTE 55 (ADMIRAL STREET/PROVIDENCE COLLEGE):

Inbound tripswill travel the regular route to the intersection of Francis Street and Memorial Boulevard, left onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, and then travel into Kennedy Plaza. 

Route #55 will travel to Stop I.

Route #50 will travel to Stop P.

Outbound tripswill travel the regular route.

ROUTE 54 (LINCOLN/WOONSOCKET):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Steeple Street and Memorial Boulevard, left onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, and then right onto Washington Street to Bus Stop L.

Outbound tripswill travel the regular route. 

ROUTE 56 (CHALKSTONE AVENUE):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Francis Street and Memorial Boulevard, left onto Memorial Boulevard, and then right onto Fulton Street to the appropriate bus stop.

Outbound tripswill travel the regular route.

Route 57 (SMITH STREET):

ROUTE 60 (PROVIDENCE/NEWPORT) ) – Detour begins at 8AM:

Inbound tripswill travel the regular route.

Outbound trips will leave Providence via a left onto Washington Street, right onto Memorial Boulevard through to Dyer Street through to Eddy Street, left onto Point Street, right onto South Water Street, and then resume regular route.

ROUTE 66 (URI/GALILEE):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Francis Street and Memorial Boulevard; continue on Memorial Boulevard to Fulton Street, and then right onto Fulton Street to Bus Stop D.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route.

ROUTE 78 (BEVERAGE HILL):

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Steeple Street and Memorial Boulevard, left onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, right onto Washington Street, and then travel intoKennedy Plaza to Bus Stop M.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route.

Route 92 Federal Hill/East Side WEST:

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Atwells and Service Road, left onto Service Road through to I-95N, right Orms street exit, left Orms Street, right onto Charles Street through to Canal Street, right onto Steeple Street, left onto Memorial Boulevard, right onto Fulton Street, right onto Dorrance Street, right into Kennedy Plaza, and then resume regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route.

Route 92 Federal Hill/East Side EAST
