The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 42 (Hope Street) to accommodate the Hope Street Merchants Association Festival. The detour will be in effect beginning at 11:00am on Saturday, May 31, 2014 until 7:00pm that day. 

The following route detour will be in effect on May 31, 2014:

Route #42 (Hope Street)

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Hope Street and Rochambeau Avenue, right onto Rochambeau Avenue, left onto Elmgrove Avenue, left onto Blackstone Boulevard, right onto Hope Street through to East Street and then resume regular route.

Inbound tripswill travel the regular route to Hope Street and Blackstone Boulevard, left onto Blackstone Boulevard, right onto Elmgrove Avenue, right onto Rochambeau Avenue, left onto Hope Street through to East Street, and then resume regular route.
